Waxing Questions?
We've Got Answers

New to waxing at home? Don’t worry — we’ve got you covered. Here are the answers to the most common questions about using your Happy Waxing Kit.

Getting Started

The Happy Waxing Home Kit was designed to make waxing at home easy and comfortable. It includes a temperature-controlled heater, patented measuring cups to help you melt the right amount of wax, and easy-to-follow tutorials to guide you through your first waxing sessions.

If you are new to waxing, we recommend starting with your lower legs where you have more space to practice and get comfortable with the technique. Always test the wax temperature on the inside of your wrist before applying it.

A bikini wax removes unwanted hair along the natural bikini line so it stays hidden when wearing swimwear. Depending on your preference, the final shape can be more triangular or rectangular.

Yes, the wax can be used on facial hair. Because facial skin can be more sensitive, we recommend testing a small area first before waxing a larger section.

Waxing can generally start in the teenage years once hair growth begins, but younger users should always have parental guidance.

Waxing Process

Pour the wax beads into the tin inside your heater and allow them to melt for about 20–30 minutes until the wax reaches a smooth, honey-like consistency. Stir gently before use.

No. The wax should not be heated in a microwave, oven, or stovetop. Always use your Happy Waxing heater to ensure safe and consistent melting.

When applied correctly, the wax usually sets in about 45 seconds. It should no longer feel sticky but remain flexible before removing it.

If some hair remains, you can simply apply another layer of wax over the area and remove it again. Make sure the hair is long enough and the wax layer is thick enough to grip the hair.

Because waxing removes hair from the root, results typically last 3–4 weeks, depending on your natural hair growth cycle.

Hair Growth & Shaving

Hair should be about ¼ inch long (the size of a grain of rice) for waxing to work effectively. This usually means waiting around 2–3 weeks after shaving.

Hair that has been shaved may feel thicker at first, but with regular waxing, hair often grows back finer and softer over time.

Waxing removes hair from the root rather than cutting it at the surface. This means smoother skin that lasts longer and hair that often grows back finer with regular waxing.

Skin & Safety

We recommend consulting your doctor before waxing. Pregnancy can make the skin more sensitive, which may increase discomfort during waxing.

Some topical or oral medications can make the skin more sensitive. If you are unsure, consult your healthcare provider before waxing.

Avoid waxing immediately after sun exposure or sunburn. Wait until your skin has fully recovered before waxing.

For best results, wax before applying self-tanner. Waxing may remove some of the tanner and affect the final color.

After Waxing Care

Avoid hot showers, saunas, intense workouts, and direct sun exposure for about 24 hours after waxing to help prevent irritation.

Apply a small amount of Happy Waxing Nourishing Oil and gently massage the area to dissolve and remove any wax residue.

Allow the wax to cool slightly and wipe the inside of the heater with paper towel while the wax is still soft. Nourishing Oil can help remove stubborn residue.
