We recommend your hair should be 1/4-inch long, or around the size of a grain of rice, this will depend on how fast your hair grows.
The hair will be different lengths from shaving, the longer hair will be removed with the wax, it is possible the shortest hair may be left behind. After waxing consecutively, without shaving, the hair will become the same length and hair will no longer be left behind.
Your waxing results will last much longer because your removing hair from the root where shaving removes hair from the surface only. You will be happy to know, over time waxing makes hair come back finer and thinner. With shaving hair appears to grow back faster, thicker, and coarser.
When you shave you risk nicks, cuts, ingrown hairs, and the unsightly and irritating razor burn and bumps, especially in the bikini, chest and underarm areas.
Be sure to CLEAN the skin of all moisturizers before and blot the skin after you apply the PREPARE OIL. Always use firm pressure when applying the wax, start in the opposite direction of your hair growth. Hair sometimes grows in different directions a second application applied in a different direction from the first should give you great hair removal results.
If you apply the wax to thin, it may cause some wax pieces to remain, apply the Cleanse lotion and it will lift right off, or simply apply more wax over the remaining wax and they will disappear!
You will be happy to know it could be 2 to 4 weeks depending on how fast your hair grows. When you shave it may come back in as little as 2 to 3 days! What makes us even happier is when you wax regularly it may take 3-6 weeks before you need to wax again.
We recommend you always consult your doctor first; pregnancy may cause you to be more sensitive to waxing.
If you are under 18, we recommend adult/parental supervision. You can start waxing when you reach puberty, however puberty can impact your hair growth cycles because of hormonal changes, you may need to be extra diligent in waxing every 2-3 weeks.
Always check with your doctor first. We do not recommend waxing if you are using Accutane.
Exfoliators, hydroxy-based medications including but not limited to: Retin-A, Renova, Differin and Tazorac are contraindications to waxing. Blood thinners, steroids, skin lighters, oral acne medications could also result in skin irritation, peeling and or skin darkening. You can always refer to the instructions for more information.
Please wait at least 24 hours (minimum 8 hours) before or after you are in the sun because your skin will be a bit more sensitive. We care about you and your skin and recommend you always wear a good sunscreen.
Waxing is a fantastic thing to do prior to self/topical tanning to exfoliate and perfectly prime your skin for a flawless tanning application. You should consider waxing 1-2 days before your self-tan. It is not recommended to get a spray tan or apply self-tanners on the same day as a wax. If you already use a self-tanner, the wax may remove your self-tan, just wait a few days before reapplying!
No hot baths or showers (cool to lukewarm water only). No saunas, hot tubs, massages, or steam treatments. Néo sunbathing, sun beds or self-tans. No sports, or strenuous exercises that cause excessive sweating. Avoid alcohol-based products and deodorants for several hours. Avoid scratching or touching the treated area with unwashed hands. Wear clean, loose fitting clothes for 24 hours to let the area breathe.
Do not wax over or closely around any body piercing.
Gently exfoliate after 48 hours, it regularly to help prevent in-grow hairs.
Ladies, it’s best not to wax 3 days before your period as skin may be sensitive during this time 😊
We recommend using a small amount of the Prepare Nourishing Oil to remove wax, be sure to wipe the heater down so it is not slipper. Do not use other solvents as they could damage the warmer and may produce toxic fumes when the warmer is operated.
Pour your beads into the tin – allow 20-30 minutes to pass before stirring and PLEASE do not hold the tin, it will become hot; allow the tin to completely cool before touching.
This waxing is about an inch just inside (top and sides) of your natural bikini line, your waxing results could be triangular or rectangular shapes.
